SUMMARY:2021 School2Home Leadership Academy
DESCRIPTION:School2Home convenes an annual Leadership Academy as part of the Learning Communities Core Component.  At School2Home Leadership Academy each School Leadership Team comes prepared to share their expertise and “lessons learned” with other partners.  In 2020 prominent presenters at the School2Home Leadership Academy included:  Member of the California State Board of Education Patricia Rucker; Long Beach Assemblymember and Chair of the Assembly Committee on Education Patrick O’Donnell; California Department of Education Educational Data Management Division Director Jerry Winkler; Senior Program Manager at Common Sense Media Sue Thotz and Author and Educator Alice Keeler.  Each School Leadership Team completes an Action Plan during the Leadership Academy to address implementation challenges at their school\, affirming the power of Learning Communities in fostering high-performing organizations.

DESCRIPTION:Our leaders convened in Sacramento on February 12 – 14\, 2019. At the Capitol\, they were welcomed by Assembly Education Committee Chair Patrick O’Donnell and Assemblymember Ash Kalra.  They heard addresses from Tom Armelino\, Executive Director of California Collaborative for Educational Excellence;  Senator Connie Leyva\, Senate Education Committee Chair; Kenneth Shelton\, Techquity Expert; Geoff Belleau\, California Department of Education Consultant; Cheryl Lemke\, Evaluation Expert\, and Micah Studer\, Executive Director of Equity and Support Services for Yolo County Office of Education. They were even treated to a surprise visit by Assemblymember Bob Archuleta\, whose godson is a School2Home participant. \n  \nPlease enjoy the brief video of some of our attendees at the 2019 School2Home Leadership Academy in Sacramento.
