CETF Launches the California Green Technology Initiative to Help Close the Digital Divide and Reduce E-Waste

SACRAMENTO – Today, the California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF) – in partnership with Valley Vision, Revivn, community refurbishers and business leaders – officially launched the California Green Technology Initiative at West Sacramento City Hall. The statewide initiative is a major step toward closing California’s Digital Divide while reducing electronic waste by keeping retired computing devices in-state so they can be refurbished and distributed to those in need.

“In Congress, I have worked tirelessly to close the digital divide and enable all Americans to thrive in the 21st century economy. Reliable, affordable broadband determines who can access quality mental health, workforce development, education and family health resources”, said Congresswoman Doris Matsui. “My good friend Sunne McPeak and The California Emerging Technology Fund have been model partners for broadband access in Sacramento. Our region’s future is bright as CETF continues their important work through the Green Technology Initiative.”
